Defeating the motorcycle troops

Use the Guillotine Throw to pull them off the bikes. If you do not have that technique, another good way is to jump around frequently, trying to avoid being hit, and to attack them with the projectile weapon of your choice whenever you land. Note: The motorcycle soldier with the sidecar cannot be grabbed with the Guillotine Throw.

Easy Essence

In Chapter 12: The Aquaducts, go in the room where you are attacked by the oversized beetles. Use the Art Of The Imzana Ninpo as many times as possible to get about 5,000 Essence.

Easy money

In Chapter 12: The Aquaduct, when you reach the point where there is a save point near the main door (which leads to a huge statue of the girl, with three water weights around her), save the game. Turn around and face where you came from. Take a few steps and turn to the left path. You will see a small door, like an elevator. Go in there, and press L2 to display your Karma. The first time you go in, kill all the Scorpion-looking things and remember the total number killed. This number will appear on your Karma display. Return outside and save the game if desired. Go back in, but do not kill all of them. Leave when there are two to four of them remaining. Go back in and they will appear again. Repeat this as many times as desired.

Easy Orbs

In Clock Tower Plaza, there is a stairway marked with blue. Go up the stairway and around the corner. Three soldiers will appear. Kill them to get a maximum of 300 Orbs, if they all drop yellow. This is not much, but if you kill the first two quickly and then press Triangle (default) to do your charge attack, absorbing the Orbs from the enemies you just killed, and unleash it on the remaining person, you can get about 1,000 Orbs. Only a few seconds are required each time, and you can do it as many times as desired.

Fish Farming

After you reach the top of the tower in chapter eighteen (entitled The Core), save your game. Then, use the black floating panel next to the save point, which will refill your life and Ninpo. Equip your “Art of the Fire Wheels” spell, and go to the top of the ramp you just climbed. Use the Ninpo and simply stand there while the fish jump up and die on your fire shield, one after the other. You can repeat this as needed for maximum yellow orbs.

Hit Muramasa

If you visit Muramasa’s store, you can score some free yellow essence from him simply by attacking him. Try attacking him with a weapon like a nunchuck, and he’ll begin dropping his yellow essence. But don’t push it! If you hit him too many times, he’ll fall due to his injuries and you will be hit with a Game Over. Save before you try this, so you can see how many times you can hit him before he dies and get the maximum amount of yellow essence from him.

Infinite Life Of The Gods and Elixirs

At the beginning of Chapter 7, there is a glitch that allows you to get an almost unlimited supply of Life Of The Gods and Elixirs over the course of the game, as long as your have access to Tairon’s Monastery Annex Save Point. When your first pick up the two chests near the save point in Chapter 7, they will respawn later in other missions. This gives you an almost unlimited supply of Life Of The Gods and Elixirs. This only works for Ryu.

Mission Mode

To unlock mission mode, beat the normal difficulty setting in story mode.

Target Practice For Profit (Chapter 2)

At Hayabusa Village in Chapter 2, after you enter the first house go to where the store statue is and you will exit that map.

On the next screen, Ryu will be attacked by a couple of magic ninjas and samurai. Once you defeat them, you will notice a small board lying on the ground.

In the distance you will see 3 targets near a fence at a dead-end. Shooting these 3 targets with a bow will give you Gold, Health, and Ninpo energy. You must be standing past the loose wood board at the corner of the house Ryu entered in order for the rewards to spawn. You can hit the money target 5 quick times, collect the gold and keep buying arrows to replenish your stock; however, you can only hit the targets a limited amount of times before they yield no more rewards.

Unlock Hard

Beat the game on Normal.

Beat the game on Very Hard.

Unlock Ninja Dog

Die 3 times.

Unlock Very Hard

Beat the game on Hard.

Windmill Shuriken

You can get the Windmill Shuriken when you first enter the Pleasure Street area. Walk forward down the street; you may be attacked by three Black Spider Ninjas. Defeat them and continue. You will reach a large clearing. Do not go too far into it yet. If you do, some motorcycle soldiers will attack and you will not be able to get the Shuriken until you defeat them. Instead, turn to Ryu’s left. You will see some smooth areas on the wall bordered in blue going down an alley. To get the Shuriken, wall run and jump to each of them, getting progressively higher each time, and land on a raised platform on the last jump. This may require a few attempts. Sometimes it will seem as though you will fall off even if it appeared like you should have made it. There is also a black object up there that will fill your health and Ninpo. It can also be used at a later time if needed.

Yellow Orb Exploit

In Chapter 3 Skies of Vengeance, there is a way to get unlimited yellow orbs. First, get the key card on the lower level.

Save your game by going down the one of the spiral staircases off the Main Deck. Now, head back to the beginning of the game.

At the end of the hall in the Living Quarters there is a door that requires the key card. Make sure you have a few Elixirs of Spiritual Life before you enter. Kill as many enemies as you can without dying, then exit through the door.

Save your game, restock your elixirs at the shop (it is located at the other spiral staircase of the Main Deck) and repeat. Once you have all the upgrades that you can purchase at this level, you can just stock pile as much Yellow Orbs as you like.

Yellow Orb Exploit

At the end of Chapter 13, Ryu must swim through the aquaducts (again) to reach the platform leading to a battle with Lord Doku.

You can use this section to farm some yellow orbs. Save here and equip the Spear Gun. Before riding the platform to the battle (or even just after, at the start of Chapter 14), swim back under the passageway and into the lift room (the one full of Shark Creatures).

Each monster is worth 1000, so you can collect about 6000 each time you go through the place. Swim just to the bottom of the tunnel and then back, allowing the creatures to respawn, then repeat. Do this for a few minutes, and then be sure to visit the conveniently placed Muramasa’s shop statue to fully power up all your weapons and stock your inventory.
